A 3-axis hand held gimbal built for smartphones, the new Zhiyun Smooth 4 is similar to any other gimbals. The main aim of this gimbal is that it helps you create stable and smooth footage while filming with your phone. The device is plastic built, and has a locking mechanism to keep the arm from swaying. It includes a tripod base and handheld grip for a smooth leveled shot.

The grip has different buttons such as the record button, a switch for Pan Following Mode and Locking Mode in its front side. Pan Follow Mode allows left to right panning while restricting vertical movements whereas the Lock Mode allows the phone to stay in a fixed position.

Cons of Zhiyun Smooth 4

• The new Zhiyun Smooth 4 has no any joystick which is taken as a major disadvantage of this gimbal. Though there are many advanced feature in this gimbal but without joystick it is somewhat difficult to use and also people who are not professional may feel difficult to understand too.
• There is also no selfie mode in this gimbal unlike its previous version where users can use mobile’s back camera for a video or selfie.
• The price of Zhiyun Smooth 4 is also high than that of Zhiyun Smooth Q.
